Jaime & Jonty

Design Brief

“She loves the simple, classic round solitaire look on a plain gold band.”

“Something a little bit different/more unique than a round cut. I think we could be a little more creative on the cut…”

“Fine, delicate and elegant aesthetic. The rings she owns are dainty pieces and she will prefer it over a piece with lots of metal work/chunky look.”

“But a secure ring is most important.”

“After a natural diamond.”

“Chasing carat.”

Classic, delicate aesthetic and security form the design guard rails for Jaime’s ring.

The Design

This solitaire ring is minimal and charming. The cathedral setting is versatile and subtly decorative, and its arches tapered to buttress the basket (bonus points for added security). Six claw prongs to keep the stunning 2.02ct certified natural oval diamond where it belongs, on Jaime’s finger.

The oval cut was a nice choice. Simple to pair well with any style, while having a slight visual intrigue to the eye with its length compared to the classic round cut.

We decided with a medium-high profile, so it would pair perfectly together with Jaime’s future wedding band. What does it look like? We don’t know yet but what we do know is that there is a window of options that will pair perfectly together with the ring and accentuate the brilliance of its centre stone - the real show stopper.

“While I was excited to purchase an engagement ring for my incredible partner, I was at first a bit daunted by the whole process; the 4Cs, budget and timelines. But within minutes of meeting with Jo and John, I knew I was in great hands. The two were incredibly generous with their time and expertise as they guided me through the process. They heard my thoughts and offered wonderful suggestions throughout and what they created was nothing short of stunning. My fiancée almost forgot where she was when the beautiful ring was presented.

I’m so lucky to have had such incredible white glove handholding from the first meeting through to picking up the ring. John is a true artist. Thanks so much BYOTTO.”
